Dental fillings are used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, or fractures.
In just one appointment, the decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed, cleaned, and filled. We provide composite dental fillings which can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth. There are further options aesthetically suited for use in the front or the more visible areas of the teeth, as well.
The procedure is usually completed in one appointment.
In preparing your tooth for the filling, the doctor will remove all decay, and thoroughly clean your tooth. If the decay was near the nerve of the tooth, a special medication may be applied for your protection. After preparation, the composite filling will then be precisely placed, shaped, and polished.
As with most dental restorations, composite fillings are not permanent and may someday need replacement. However, they often last for many years and provide you with a fully restored smile.
